YouTube is preparing to show ads on paused videos

YouTube has become very aggressive about the ads served on its platform, increasingly forcing users to watch this content — or limiting the experience within the platform when ads are blocked.

Now the largest video platform on the Internet It is being tested. A new feature, which will bring more publicity to it, is already being criticized. Soon, users may start seeing ads even when they pause the videos they are watching.

Google has already started testing video ads temporarily in 2023, but will now begin expanding them to more accounts. When you pause videos, YouTube may show a small ad in the background.

This ad won't be as invasive as the rest, being part of small animations or banners that appear within the video content, but it will still be enough to start getting criticized by the community.

Example of a YouTube ad

Some Reddit users have already confirmed that they are receiving this new ad from YouTube, and it is expected to reach more accounts in the coming weeks. YouTube claims that the new ads will be able to deliver these ad campaigns in a less intrusive format than current models.

For now, the video platform appears to be still rolling out these new ads in testing, albeit to a wider group of users. It’s expected to reach more accounts in the coming weeks.
