On Sunday, Xiaomi presented its new high-end smartphones for 2023 in Barcelona. We were there to get to know the new Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro up close, with a big focus on the rear cameras with Leica lenses.
Considering what Xiaomi’s competition has done in the field of charging, it is expected that the Chinese manufacturer will choose not to include a charger in the box of these smartphones. But you can rest assured, as both Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro have a charger included in the box.
Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro both arrive with fast chargers included in the box
In the case of the Xiaomi 13, it comes with a 67W charger included in the box. This is the maximum speed at which the device charges, and thus it manages to fully fill its battery in just 38 minutes.
In the case of Xiaomi 13 Pro, the charger is more prominent. It is a 120W charger, which can fully charge a smartphone in just 19 minutes. A sure bet either way by Xiaomi.
Loading speed is one of the amenities in which Xiaomi is so far ahead of its direct competitors Apple and Samsung by a few steps.
Charging up to 120W on the Xiaomi 13 Pro and 67W on the Xiaomi 13
It’s nice to say that the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro still charge wirelessly at 50W, which means you can fully charge them in just 48 minutes.
To get an idea of the difference, the latest Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra charges wirelessly at a maximum of 45W. iPhone 14 Pro Max charges at a maximum of 27W (unofficial numbers).
In short, it’s an area where Xiaomi’s competitors can, and should, still improve.
