Electric cars are taking over the roads and in the near future any class of vehicle will have the electric option. From light to heavy, passing people to merchandise, brands are preparing aggressively for the transition. We say it aggressively because even the most outlandish offering already thinks about electrical efficiency. Luxurious condition is the XBUS Camper mobile home.
This is a proposal for a super efficient electric mini cart for two people. Immerse yourself in nature in the utmost comfort.
XBUS: a compact mobile car that doesn't harm the environment or your comfort
The proposal is based on some sustainability criteria. One Small vehicle with solar resources It can accommodate two people. Thus, the length of the wagon version of the XBUS will be 3.95 meters, and the minivan provides space for passenger comfort.
One A retractable cab aft creates a sleeping space of 130 x 210 cm. There is also a mobile kitchen block on board that can be used outside the car if needed, as well as TV, refrigerator, fresh water tank and sink.
In the fully equipped version, The price of the XBUS Camper with a retractable roof should be around 30,170 euros. Currently, the prototype of the car is still at the beginning of production at the German company located in Rosbach. The first models are expected to reach customers in 2024.
The campervan version features four electrically controlled wheel hub motors, which together provide up to 56 kW (76 hp) with full traction, enabling a top speed of 100 km/h.
Converting solar energy into electrical energy
The battery stores 15 kWh in the basic version and can be increased to 45 kWh with additional battery packs. Depending on the battery configuration, The range should be between 200 and 600 km. Charging takes three to five hours on a standard 220-volt outlet or correspondingly faster on an 11 kW charger.
Like other XBUS variants, the XBUS Camper is available in both standard and off-road body versions with increased ground clearance. There is a 5 square meter photovoltaic panel on the roof. Under optimal conditions, the vehicle should be able to generate an additional 30 to 50 km daily range of solar energy on average annually.
This technology is especially worthwhile on camping holidays in sunny areas. Thanks to car charging technology, campers can also use their own solar power from a 220V vehicle socket.
With an unloaded weight of 500-800 kg, depending on the equipment, the XBUS falls into the category of light electric vehicles. XBUS customers will be able to choose from nine different variants in the future. Whether it's a van, bus, coach, or caravan, they all share a modular approach.
