Iga Swedek and Simona Halep got into a heated fight at the WTA 1000 match in Indian Wells. At key moments, the Polish tennis player was very effective and he will fight for the title.

The fourth clash was between Iga Swidek (WTA 4) and Simona Halep (WTA 26) in the first semi-final in Indian Wells. The Polish woman reported for the first time at this point in the event in California. Romanian is his 2015 champion. Swedek won after a thrilling battle of 7: 6 (6), 6: 4. Halep was 2: 4 5: 4 and she got the service. The Polish woman did not surrender and made up for the loss in a brilliant fashion. She sparkled performance on the web and equaled her 5: 5 with a combination of deep return and forehand. At the tie-break, the emotions were immense. Halep has been active in exchanges, and Swedek has made some minor mistakes. Eventually, the Polish woman tilted the scales to her side. The two sets for the Romanian were 6-4. At Roland Garros, the Romans were definitely better once (6: 1, 6: 0 in 45 minutes), and Swedek (6: 1, 6: 2) clearly won the next clash in Paris. These competitions were held in 2019 and 2020 respectively. Halep won the 2021 Australian Open in three sets.
Świątek have not lost in 10 games and have drawn 10-0 in the WTA 1000 this year. At the end of February, he won the title in Doha.
