When was the last time you took a good look at a washing machine? It’s that sometimes we don’t read the manual and that’s why we miss out on some really important things that can make your laundry more efficient. In the case of some devices, for example, the Hotspot, but nothing we really need to care about. It’s just that if you don’t get this piece out of the washing machine, it will wash badly!
Washer: If you don’t remove this piece, it washes bad!
Some washing machines have a very useful tool hidden in a secret compartment that can help you get the most out of your laundry while minimizing waste.
It all started when a user shared a photo of her washing machine drawer with a small groove. In fact, it is very common as you can see in the image below.
Now inside this hole is a small plastic device that can be removed and reinstalled.
It turns out that this is common but goes unnoticed. In practice, it is used to measure washing liquid or powder to ensure that nothing is wasted. After this advice was shared in a well-known English laundry group, the responses were not long in coming.
“I found out about this last week and couldn’t believe it,” one user wrote.
“I never understood why the washer wouldn’t wash as well as it should! I found that as soon as I moved that piece everything changed.”
In fact, the manual itself mentions this on many washers and that there is a part in the washer tray that is meant to help with detergent loss. “If you are using detergent, put the barrier in slot B” – slot B is that secret compartment.
But if you are using a liquid detergent, this part is recommended. Everything to control the amount of detergent you use and keep everything running smoothly.
Really worth reading the manual sometimes.
