What is RSO (Regional Alert System)?

The RSO, or Regional Alert System, is a government service that notifies citizens of various threats. News is generated by voivodeship crisis management centers. They are not only a variety of local threats, natural disasters, but also road accidents.

What kind of alerts are sent?

• Traffic announcements– Major roadblocks and other events that significantly affect travel time.
• Weather warnings– Any weather events that pose a threat to citizens. Hazards, storms, hail, violent storms, heavy rain, heat and other weather hazards and warnings.
• Hydraulic warnings– Risk of flooding or local flooding caused by sudden rain, strong winds or other events that raise the water level.

RSO News (voivodeship range) was created by the voivodeship Crisis Management Center.

RSO History

• November 13, 2014– The Ministry of Administration and Digitization signed an agreement with Televija Polska, which specified the schedule for the implementation of the system.
• August 31, 2014– Termination of the pilot of the Regional Alert System. Alerts were tested in all provinces. The pilot is made possible by the cooperation between Televiza Polska S.A., Ministry of Administration and Digitization And IMGW.
• January 1, 2015– Launch RSO on TVP Regionalna and mobile applications.
• June 25, 2015– Signed by the Minister of Administration and Digitalization and the Chairman of the Office of Electronic Communications Letter With regard to creating a system for notifications in dangerous areas through the SMS channel, with mobile operators in Poland.
• July 1, 2015 – Enables the full functional range provided for RSO. • August 16, 2018– New version of RSO utility enables receiving messages from selected communes instead of full voivodeship.

If you know the right warning, use the Internet, radio or TV, not only to know the essence of the danger, but above all to know the instructions and instructions in case of a serious threat. Do not forget to inform those nearby about the danger. When you are away from home, contact your loved ones if possible. Let them know about the situation and where you are.
