Villas-Boas proud of Porto women's team start – Women's Football

Porto Women's team won 3-0 at the Académico de Viseu in their first official match, in the Portuguese Cup match, and the Dragons' president, André Villas-Boas, did not hide his satisfaction.

“It was FC Porto's first official match and allowed us to reach the knockout stage of the Portuguese Women's Cup, a historic competition. This project became a reality in a very short time thanks to the work of Professor José Manuel, from Graça, the blue and white team's captain: “With their team and also Mr. Daniel, we are very proud of the way they fought on the pitch, the way they achieved victory and the beginning of the senior women's football project at FC Porto”, said the club's chief executive to the club's official channels.

“There is a new way to experience FC Porto in the women's first team, and this was revealed in the historic flood that we saw at the Estádio do Dragão and that brought a lot of emotion to a lot of people. I think it will not be the only one, first of all, we will continue to have a big audience in women's football to see the birth of this project that we are all proud of and that will continue to bring more people, more families, more children and more girls to Portuguese football.”
