Video: Mourinho is sent off in Fenerbahce's match against Manchester United

Fenerbahce, led by Jose Mourinho, tied today, Thursday, with Manchester United (1-1) in Istanbul, in a match in the third round of the European League, which was marked by the expulsion of the Portuguese coach in the match with his former team.

Jose Mourinho coached Manchester United from 2016 to 2019, and this Thursday he had the opportunity to meet some familiar faces, but the warmest embrace was with Casemiro, a player who worked with Mourinho while at Real Madrid.

With the ball rolling, Old Trafford came out better with Diogo Dalot in the starting line-up, but without Bruno Fernandes, serving the punishment imposed by his sending off at Dragao. Coach Eric Ten Hag's team ended the lead in the 15th minute, with a quick pass led by Zirkzee that ended with a bomb from Eriksen on the edge of the penalty area.

Fenerbahce reacted strongly and Mourinho was left desperate when he saw Onana make a stunning double save that allowed the English side to go into half-time with the small lead they had.

However, it did not take several minutes for the Turkish team to equalize at the start of the second half, as Saint-Maximin crossed from the left flank for En-Nesyri to head home from the penalty area.

Jose Mourinho celebrated with one of the young ball-catchers, but soon after, he received a sending-off order, with a straight red flag, for his protests, in which he demanded a penalty kick for his team. The Portuguese coach came down from the bench to the stands, where he watched the rest of the match, which did not witness any other goals.

Fenerbahce, with 5 points, occupies 14th place in the European League classification in the new format, while United, with three draws, occupies a modest 21st place.
