Fenerbahce reacted strongly and Mourinho was left desperate when he saw Onana make a stunning double save that allowed the English side to go into half-time with the small lead they had.
However, it did not take several minutes for the Turkish team to equalize at the start of the second half, as Saint-Maximin crossed from the left flank for En-Nesyri to head home from the penalty area.

Jose Mourinho celebrated with one of the young ball-catchers, but soon after, he received a sending-off order, with a straight red flag, for his protests, in which he demanded a penalty kick for his team. The Portuguese coach came down from the bench to the stands, where he watched the rest of the match, which did not witness any other goals.
