Várzea Paulista City Hall reinforces joint efforts against dengue on Saturday (9)

On Saturday (9), Varzia Paulista City Hall, through the Surveillance and Zoonoses sector, is promoting a joint, house-to-house visit effort to boost the control of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which causes dengue, Zika and chikungunya viruses.

The task force will hold from 8 am to 1 pm, in the neighborhoods of Vila Popular and Parque Guarani, in designated blocks according to the incidence of confirmed cases. The group of 35 people in uniform – to facilitate their identification, intends to visit nearly 700 properties.

According to the municipality’s coordinator for surveillance and zoonoses, André Purgato, residents will be able to help with work, receive servers who will be involved in the work and follow all instructions to eliminate breeding sites. “After the visit, it is very important for the population to keep fighting the vector that causes dengue,” he says.

The intent is that the dengue task force will extend this weekend into next month.
Intensification of the fight

The number of confirmed dengue cases in Varzia Paulista increased in recent weeks and as of Tuesday (6), the number of confirmed cases in the municipality reached 78 confirmed cases and 5 confirmed imported cases.
