Marco van Basten doesn't usually shut up when it comes to football commentary on Dutch television, especially when the topics revolve around Ajax or the national team. One of the former striker's “victims” was Brian Brobbey, the 22-year-old Amsterdam club player, who listened and did not remain silent.
“Mr. Van Basten keeps talking about me. I think he's said the same thing about 50 times. It doesn't bother me. I think he thinks I'm an interesting player and guy, otherwise he wouldn't talk.” Much about me,” said the young man, advancing.
Van Basten criticized Brian Probbe for believing he had little interest in the goal. Van Basten said about the striker, “Little by little you learn to shoot, but him? He has been training with Ajax for 12 years and has no idea what to do in front of the goalkeeper.”
The former player had already entered into a similar controversy with Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool's Dutch international defender. At the World Cup in Qatar he was accused of lacking leadership and more heroism in the team. Van Dijk responded: It is easy to do analysis from television. I manage the team the best way I can. Van Basten is not positive at all. What are we going to do?
