Update Windows to resolve a Wi-Fi vulnerability

Microsoft is alerting its users to a serious security vulnerability affecting the Windows operating system. You want to make sure they are protected and not vulnerable to a new attack that exploits a Wi-Fi vulnerability to control any computer remotely.

Update Windows to resolve the security flaw

As is common, users postpone Windows updates to ensure that they do not cause problems. If for many this is a protection against abnormal situations, the truth is that it makes them vulnerable to security problems that can be exploited.

This is what is happening now, as Microsoft alerted users to a security vulnerability that the company has since resolved. This has a high degree of risk and can put users and their data at risk in a very simple way.

Microsoft claims that this vulnerability is in Wi-Fi, CVE-2024-30078It gives hackers the ability to spread a malicious package. This applies to devices with Windows 10 or 11 installed, as long as they are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Once the package is deployed, attackers will be able to execute commands and gain access to the system.

Microsoft wants to protect users on Wi-Fi

The solution to this Wi-Fi security flaw already exists and is available from Microsoft. The security update was released on June 11 and fixes the Windows Wi-Fi issue. However, it requires users to download and install it.

As mentioned earlier, this flaw has a high level of security. Microsoft classified the vulnerability as “critical,” which is the company’s second-highest rating in terms of security flaws.

So, after this warning from Microsoft, all that remains is the most logical reaction on the part of users. They must update Windows and install the latest security updates to be protected and free from security problems or flaws. What's more, it can be easily explored once connected to a Wi-Fi network.
