Trump accused Taylor Swift of being “disloyal” if she supported Biden

Donald Trump has accused pop star Taylor Swift of being “disloyal” if she supports Joe Biden for president in the 2024 election.

Trump said Swift and other artists benefited from the Music Modernization Act, which helped artists earn royalties and licensing fees more easily through music streaming services, a measure passed during his presidency.

The former president noted that “there is no way Swift would support Joe Biden,” and if that happened, it would be “a betrayal of the man who made him so much money.”

Swift was standing by Biden in the 2020 race, but has not yet revealed her support for anyone publicly in this latest campaign. In a recent Instagram post, Taylor Swift encouraged her supporters to vote, resulting in more than 35,000 registered voters.

Trump said Biden “did nothing for Taylor and never will.”

Despite what Trump says, the Music Modernization Act was a strong bipartisan effort with unanimous support by the House and Senate. Dina LaBolt, one of the lawyers involved, said Sunday that Trump “did nothing about our legislation except sign it.”
