Tribuna do Norte – Influenza vaccination reaches 37.8% of children in Apucarana

Of the 7,698 children of vaccination age in Abukarana, 2,910 were immunized against influenza, representing 37.8% of the total. The balance was released on Friday (13) by the Municipal Health Authority (AMS) which classified the index as unsatisfactory, given the wave of demand for care related to pediatric respiratory illness.

Once again, Mayor Vimac Jr. and Health Minister Emdio Bachega are appealing to parents of children aged six months to five years. The Minister of Health, Emídio Baciega, recalls that 26 Basic Health Units (UBS) in Apucarana are vaccinating children in this age group as well as the elderly over the age of 60. Regarding the elderly, Apucarana has already vaccinated 11,131 people, which is 48.3% of the projected total, which is also a low indicator since the vaccination of the elderly began in April.
