Life of the Tony Carrera She was deeply affected and lost her “color” after the death of her youngest daughter, Sara Carrera, at the age of 21.
The singer's world came crashing down in December 2020, following a tragic car accident that resulted in the loss of his “girl.”
This week, during the Parisian makeup party, conducted by Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Tony Carrera shared his feelings in an exclusive interview with Correio da Manha with Tania Laranjo, revealing: “My daughter's association is a very big mission.”
“And thank you, because when I referred to Portuguese in Global, I was referring to that [e confessa que sentiu muita a solidariedade dos portugueses]I think that at the end of life, I think that I am already on the last straight line, on the last right line to get there. And I sincerely hope that, and I know that you can talk and write, about what I am going to say now, there will be no problem either, and I hope that this straight line will not be much longer.
He even explains his shocking statements. “Because he's reached a certain age, finally, I'm speaking for myself, we can now make the journey, and I have things to do on the other side.”
Remembering childhood in France
“I defined these words a lot, of course I did, and at that moment I remembered my father and mother a lot, because they arrived here with me when I was 10 years old, and it was really a life of sacrifice and work. Then I grew up and started singing here when I was 15 years old. Then I grew up and started singing here when I was 15 years old. Until I was 25 or 30, I continued composing music here, until one day I returned to Portugal, but my whole beginning was here. The first great friends in my life, friends from 40 years ago and still today, fortunately, are from here, because my experience was here.
It's a prize for everyone.
“It's my award, it's an award for all the Portuguese who have followed me in such a beautiful way all these years because, deep down, I'm here representing them in a certain way because without the weight, without that connection with these people.“It wouldn’t make sense for me to be here. What would I have done? I have no idea if I could have done anything else to deserve it. I owe this award to the Portuguese.”
Thank you for loving Portugal in the last 4*5 years.
“In addition to those who love my songs, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all the fans who accompany me to my concerts, and who have accompanied me throughout these years. Because without them I wouldn't be here to interview you, I wouldn't receive anything at all, but then, going through my fans, I'm very grateful to the Portuguese for everything they've done for me and my family in the last 5, 4 years. And a lot of gratitude, a lot of gratitude.”
