In a statement issued by the country's official news agency, Saint Therese Hospital said the hospital building suffered “severe damage” as a result of Israeli attacks, and therefore it must cease operations.

Saint Therese is located on the outskirts of Beirut, which has been subjected to a number of Israeli air strikes in recent days.

In addition, two hospitals in southern Lebanon were forced to close their doors.

On Friday, bombs reportedly fell five meters from the main entrance to a hospital in the town of Marjayoun in southern Lebanon.

The official Lebanese News Agency reported that four health workers were killed. NTB wrote that the health workers who were killed did not work at the village hospital, according to hospital director Munis Kalakesh.

It is not clear whether the hospital in Marjayoun is among the three hospitals that are now closed.

The World Health Organization said Thursday that 28 health workers had died in Lebanon in 24 hours, NTB news agency reported.

World Health Organization head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called for increased protection for aid workers in the country.

The headquarters is supposed to be bombed

The Israeli army says it has killed about 250 Hezbollah fighters since it began its ground operation in Lebanon earlier this week.

At the same time, army representative Nadav Shoshani says they are still investigating the damage related to the attacks in southern Lebanon on Thursday evening. He says it was targeting Hezbollah's intelligence headquarters.

Israel says it struck more than 2,000 targets in southern Lebanon, according to Agence France-Presse. The targets must be military, military buildings and weapons.

Evacuation order in the south

On Friday morning, Israel asked residents of more than 20 towns in southern Lebanon to evacuate immediately.

– Anyone who is in close proximity to Hezbollah fighters, facilities or equipment is in immediate danger because he could become the target of military attacks at any time, IDF spokesman Avichay Adraee wrote on the X website.

– The area north of the Litani must be evacuated immediately, adding that “it is forbidden to travel south.”
