The Spaniards buy a luxury goods factory in Ponte de Lima for 225 thousand euros

Barcelona, ​​Spain-based textile group Nextil has bought the knitwear company for luxury segments – Keupe – headquartered in Arcozelo, in the municipality of Ponte de Lima. The investment is 225 thousand euros and will increase the production capacity of the group by about 20%.

In the note sent to the Spanish press, Nextel asserts that this purchase is “another step towards incorporating companies that add value at every stage of the business, and in promoting concentration in reference sectors in the textile industry, such as the luxury bag”.

This new acquisition is the group’s third in Portugal, having acquired, in 2018, SICI93 and Playvest, headquartered in Braga but with business units in Vizela and Vila Verde.

According to the statement carried by the Spanish newspapers, Nextel has seen an increase in the last year wallet of orders increased by 250% compared to 2020, ending the year with sales of 15 million euros.

Manuel Martos, Managing Director of Nextil, highlighted the importance of the acquisition: “It is a very important process for Nextil, as it allows us to continue investing in our production unit with a significant increase in business in a strategic market such as luxury products.”
