The price of diesel rose overnight and remains close to the price of gasoline

Oil is rising and the euro is falling. This is bad news for Portuguese motorists, with further fuel price increases likely.

After nearly two months, diesel again saw a strong pump rise, unlike what has happened with gasoline so far. This data is from the Directorate General of Energy and Geology, which publishes the average prices exercised the previous day in mainland Portugal every day.

From Sunday to Monday, the price of a simple diesel rose by five cents, bringing the final average price to 1.771 euros per liter. The price of private diesel rose more than 5.7 cents at a selling price of 1.807 euros per liter.

Gasoline hardly rose. Simple Petrol 95 rose by only 0.2 cents (to 1,777 euros per liter) and the Special 95 Gasoline increased by 0.9 cents per liter (to 1,804 euros).

98 gasoline, 0.4 cents per liter, fell to 1,936 euros per liter. The 98 Special Gasoline also varied by 0.4 cents per liter, but rose to a final price of 1,941 euros per liter.

This means that the difference between regular diesel and regular 95 petrol is only 0.6 cents per liter.
