The new Apple Pencil arrives with a USB-C port and is cheaper

Quite discreetly, Apple has just launched a new version of the Pencil that now has universal USB-C connectivity.

The accessory arrives on the Portuguese market at a price of less than 95 euros.

The price cut removes some features from the new Apple Pencil

With a very conservative launch, announced only through a press release, the new Apple Pencil with USB-C port has arrived in Portugal. The big news is the fact that it is priced at less than 95 euros.

But the price reduction also brings with it a reduction in features. The new accessory does not support pressure sensitivity, pairing, or wireless charging. Another feature that is not included is double tap to change tools.

On the plus side, the new Apple Pencil includes tilt sensitivity, lets you see the line before drawing on the screen, and has a magnetic mounting system to stay secure on your Apple tablet.

Compatibility with iPad tablets

Also on the plus side, the new Apple Pencil is compatible with many Apple tablet models. The lucky beneficiaries are:

  • iPad 10th generation
  • iPad mini sixth generation
  • iPad Air 4th and 5th generation
  • iPad Pro 11 inches, first, second, third and fourth generation
  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th generation

The Apple Pencil is also expected to be compatible with new Apple tablets that are scheduled to be launched, according to rumours, by the end of this year.

At the moment, Apple has already announced the new accessory on its website in Portuguese, but the model is still not available for delivery.
