Caraca is about to become a reinforcement for Chavez. As a free agent, having terminated his contract with FC Porto just over a month ago, the 30-year-old right-back will sign a Trás-os-Montes-branded contract valid until the end of the season. The defender is just waiting to undergo medical examinations before joining Moreno Teixeira’s team, which will happen very soon, taking advantage of the tournament break to integrate seamlessly into the group.
Karaka’s signing was due to the need to fill the gap created by Habib Sela’s injury. The Ivorian full-back suffers from a tear in his right adductor muscle, a sensitive problem that requires an absence that could last for three months. Until Karaca’s arrival, Joao Correa remains the only option on the right side of the defence, where, due to the three-back system, he operates in a more advanced area of the pitch.
