Basically, this isn't big news. After all, if the Pro models are going to get bigger (which they will), there's naturally going to be more physical space to do more of the work, thanks to the use of more components, or bigger components.

iPhone 15 Pro Max exclusivity goes to iPhone 16 Pro

So, in case you didn't know, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the only one capable of 5x optical zoom, thanks to the use of a lens system that simply doesn't fit into the current iPhone 15 Pro body.

Fortunately, with the physical size of the iPhone 16 Pro models increasing in 2024, there will be room to finally bring this feature to the iPhone 16 Pro. In other words, this device will also be capable of up to 5x optical zoom. And up to 25x hybrid zoom.

However, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to continue to outperform the iPhone 16 Pro, thanks to the use of more powerful lenses, greater stabilization, etc. Yes, Apple will also benefit from the increased body size of the iPhone 16 Pro Max to take it to the next level. In fact, the Pro Max always outperforms the Pro, it's just not bigger or heavier.

However, Apple's new Pro smartphone, now with a 6.3-inch display and greater photo-taking capabilities, remains exactly the same price as its predecessor. I don't see how it can't be a huge success in the market. Especially if the Android side gets more expensive as expected in 2024/2025.
