The Lisbon City Council (CML) has unanimously approved the architectural project for the new Pena Manic Stadium, announced Casa Pia, which wants to start playing at home from 2025/26.
“The club’s management expects to present the specialized and executive projects that follow the architectural project by the end of next February. After this deadline, we will open a tender to carry out the work, once we obtain the necessary license from the Lisbon City Council.”
President Vitor Cebra Franco stressed that there was a “small problem” of finding funding to pay for the work, which, if exceeded, would lead to the demolition of the current Pena Manic stadium, with “the end or beginning of May expected.” June of this year.
“Things are as they are, not as we would all like them to be. Anyone who knows the history of Casa Pia Atlético Clube knows that we used other people's stadiums until the current Pena Manic stadium was built, and now history is repeating itself. The management will try to return to the new Bina Manik Stadium in the 2025/26 sports season. Until then, we have to sacrifice ourselves and attend the Municipal Stadium in Rio Mayor, where we were well received, and continue to support the main team of the club.”
Returning to the league last season, Casa Pia played at the National Stadium during the visit. This season he is playing in Rio Mayor, 85 kilometers from Peña Manique.
