Teresopolis, 04/05/2024 –Anticipating the recommendation of the Ministry of Health, since April 25, the Municipal Health Department of Teresópolis has been vaccinating residents over six months of age against influenza.
Until then, only priority groups were vaccinated by the Unified Health System (SUS). The campaign continues until May 31 in the city's health units.
The aim is to increase vaccination coverage and ensure the health of the population in the fall and winter months, preventing outbreaks and reducing potential complications and hospitalizations caused by influenza.
The municipality vaccinated 18,622 people from priority groups (children up to the age of six, the elderly, pregnant women, health workers and teachers), with a coverage rate of 25.10%. However, there are doses that will be released into the system to update the number of people vaccinated.
