Sporting are back in action with Marcus Edwards already integrated

Marcus Edwards returned to training with his Sporting teammates on Tuesday, at the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy, after recovering from the muscle problems that kept him out of the Lions' recent matches. A session marked by the absence of several international players already serving their teams.

After the break following the victory over Casa Pia (2-0), Ruben Amorim rejoined Alcochete for another work session in which the big news was the appearance of the English striker on the pitch.

Pedro Gonçalves remains in the medical department, as do Mateus Reis, Diomande, Eduardo Quaresma and Gonzalo Inacio, the latter of whom was released, on Tuesday, from the national team that is preparing for two more matches in the UN League.

A session in which the coach found himself already deprived of players such as Francisco Trincao (Portugal), Giovanni Cuenda (Portugal U21), Franco Israel and Maxi Araujo (Uruguay), Hidemasa Morita (Japan), Gini Catamo (Mozambique). Zino Debast (Belgium), Victor Geukeris (Sweden), Morten Holmand (Denmark) and Konrad Harder (Denmark U21).

To face this large number of absences, the coach summoned several players from the formation to form the group.

The Lions return to action on Wednesday morning at the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy.

We note that after the commitments of the national teams, Sporting will return to the competition with a trip to the Algarve region, to face Portimonense, in the third round of the Portuguese Cup.
