Sony unveils PS VR2 final design … PS5 identity sequence

Sony has revealed the final design of the PlayStation VR2 (hereafter PS VR2). The officially released PS VR2 has a combination of white and black, inheriting the design identity of PlayStation 5 (hereinafter referred to as PS5).

Sony has announced on its official blog that the two products, the PS5 and PS VR2, are focused on design related to each other. PS VR2 features the same wide design as its predecessor. However, unlike the previous product, a new dial and apertures were added for adjusting the lens, and it is known that the weight was slightly reduced.

The PS VR2 headset has a “circular” shape, similar to the PS VR2 Sense console. The company explained that the PS5 console has bezels that appear on a flat surface, while the PS VR2 headset focuses more on adding roundness to a seamless user connection.

“When we started designing the PS VR2 headphones, one of the areas we focused on was creating the vents,” said Eugene Morisawa, Senior Art Director at Sony Interactive Entertainment. You can think of it as similar to the PS5 console slots. “I’ve worked on several designs with the idea of ​​preventing lens fogging as users engage in VR games,” he said. “You will notice a small gap between the top of the strap and the name of the foreground in the final design.”

PS VR2 is a VR device based on PS5. Supports 4K HDR and a viewing angle of 110 degrees. Moreover, with the OLED display, users can enjoy games with a resolution of 2000 x 2040 and refresh rates of 90 and 120 Hz.

In addition, it is equipped with an inside-out tracking function so that it can understand the movement and direction of the user’s gaze without the need for an external camera. Just looking in a certain direction during the game is reflected in the manipulation of the game character.
