At least 20 rounds were fired during a military parade in downtown Highland Park marking American Liberation Day, July 4.
A reporter is said to have seen five people covered in blood, and one person was said to have been covered with a blanket, he writes. Chicago Sun Times.
Chicago police said that the five injured will be taken out of danger NBC News.
It is not yet known who was behind the shooting or whether the perpetrators were arrested.

The newspaper said that the police asked people to leave the place because it was not safe.
Police in Lake County, the county where Highland Park is located, wrote on Twitter at the address. 18.05 They are helping the local police force to deal with the situation.
