Lionel Dahmer died at a nursing home not far from his home in Ohio, a source close to the family said this week. A health care system employee confirms they were notified of Lionel’s death.
The retired chemist was in poor health and had been hospitalized repeatedly over the past year. He is also said to have been deeply affected by the death of his second wife, Jeffrey Shari’s stepmother, in a nursing home in January.

– In recent months he had been receiving intensive treatment and had hallucinations that he saw Jeff. He was incoherent and asked if people had seen Jeff. He said Jeff came to see him. He also asked about Shari, and it was as if he was trying to remember the good times, continues the source.
The source explains that Lionel’s health began to deteriorate after Shari’s death last January the sun.

Jeffrey Dahmer was sentenced to life in prison for killing and mutilating 17 men and boys in Wisconsin and Ohio between 1978 and 1991.

The serial killer was beaten to death at the age of 34 by an inmate in a Wisconsin prison in 1994.

According to the source, the renewed interest in his son was a challenge for Lionel.
