Arriving this week in Belém and the urban area, Hacklab Volante is a modified minibus that combines a studio, a workshop, an art gallery, a gadget museum and a mobile science gallery. The public will be able to visit it for free, and interact with its collection of multimedia arts and Gambiaras. From Monday (13) until 24 November, the project will travel through the regions of Belém, Ananendua, Icuarache and Mosquero, offering workshops to public school students and visits to “Bosão”.
The visits will be led by observers who will present scientific and artistic concepts for the works. These sessions last approximately 10 minutes and are conducted in groups of 6 to 8 people. The exhibition includes approximately 20 works by nine artists, such as Fred Paulino, visual artist, curator and creator of the project (pictured at the opening of the issue); fellow miners Marcelo Kreiser and Sara Lana; Arthur Joly from São Paulo; and Argentine Jorge Crowe, among others. The project is sponsored by the Valley Cultural Institute, through the Federal Cultural Incentives Act.
In addition to the works on display, the project includes educational content, electronic experiments, incentives for using sustainable energy sources, and demonstrations of operating electronic materials and handling tools.
“Businhos” workshops are also part of Hacklab Volante to introduce electronics and product design. In Belém, the educational activity will be carried out in the municipal schools of the city, with students from the third to the fifth year. The methodology stimulates participants’ creativity and innovative spirit, by building and customizing a bus-shaped prop containing flashing LED lights and electronic components.
The Hacklab Volante tour started in Minas Gerais and actually passed through Maranhão until it reached Pará, where it passed through the municipalities of Tocuma, Cana dos Carajas, Parauapebas and Marabá and will end in Greater Belém.
