FAPESP Agency – The Faculty of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences (FCAV) of the State University of São Paulo (Unesp), Jabuticabal Campus, organizes the São Paulo School of Advanced Sciences (ESPCA) in Precision Animal Production from 15 to 24 October 2024. Registration is open until 20 January.
ESPCA is Funded by FAPESP It seeks to bring together national and foreign scholars to promote research in the field of precision animal production among graduate students and young researchers. The goal is to find solutions to improve production management, monitor and control animal productivity, environmental impacts and health and welfare standards in a continuous, real-time and automated way.
At the school, the strategic plan is to put important content “on the same page” in the form of short courses on machine learning, statistical learning, and database systems. The lectures will provide examples of practical applications of precision animal production in Brazil and abroad.
100 participants will be selected, 50 from any state in Brazil and 50 from other countries, whose expenses will be covered by the event organization.
Those wishing to participate must register via School website. Candidates will be evaluated by the ESPCA’s Precision Livestock Scientific and Regulatory Committees. They will be selected based on a letter of motivation, research project summary, letter of recommendation from an advisor, academic transcripts, and CV.
The candidate’s country of origin will also be taken into account, to include participants from all continents. The Organizing and Scientific Committee seeks to achieve gender equality in the pool of selected candidates. The list of shortlisted candidates will be announced on February 20.
