Santa Clara shoots Nuno Campos and there are actually two chances for this job

The coach did not resist the poor results.

The Santa Clara club’s board of directors expelled coach Nuno Campos from the technical leadership of the team. This is the second change in the technical leadership of the team this season. The coach, chosen in October to replace Daniel Ramos, could not resist poor results and suffered defeat on Saturday in Madeira, with Maritimo, as the last straw. In the nine games before Santa Clara, Nuno Campos had three wins, one draw and five defeats.

According to information obtained by O JOGO, assistant Tiago Sousa will lead the team until SAD Azzurri gets a replacement for the position of head coach.

Jorge Fernandez, known in football as Silas, is one of the opportunities for this position. The 45-year-old, who has already coached Belenenses, Sporting and Famalicao, was one of the coaches who in October will replace Daniel Ramos, the coach who left Santa Clara to host a project in Saudi Arabia. Joao Henriques, who coached Santa Clara for two seasons and was recently fired from Moreirense, is also one of the opportunities for the job.

On Saturday, in Round 14 of the I Liga, Nuno Campos captained Santa Clara’s last game of the tournament, in a 4-1 loss against Maritimo. The Azores are, provisionally, 14th in the tournament with just 10 points.

Next Friday, in Estádio de São Miguel, Santa Clara will host Vitoria de Guimarães in the fifteenth round of the first Spanish league, and Thiago Sousa will direct the Santa Clara team, if SAD cannot guarantee, in the coming days, the successor of Nuno Campos to the position of manager Technical team.
