the The Russian Space Agency – Roscosmos – announced today, Sunday, the 13th, that it plans to launch a total of 34 rockets between 2027 and 2033 in order to operate its new space station.

The project's general director, Vladimir Kozhevnikov, even stated that the first manned flight to the new space station will take place in 2028 on board the rocket that will replace the current Soyuz. The construction of the basic unit is expected to be completed in 2030, and two other units will be included in the following three years.

It's hard to get an idea of what this new space station will look like, but as Space.com recalls, the Russian Orbital Service Station (ROS) was already presented to the public at an event in the summer of 2022 via a model. You can see the already revealed images above.

It is known that ROSS will be located at the same altitude as the International Space Station – 400 kilometers – and will be developed so that modules from other countries can be integrated.
