Rui Oliveira reveals new details about the death of Manuel Luis Gaucha's mother and confirms: “He did not suffer” – Nacional

Rui Oliveira has always had a very close relationship with his mother-in-law, even though they live 200 kilometres apart. The CMTV presenter even took care of Maria de Lourdes, when Gosha's mother was sick.

This morning's CMTV broadcast revealed some of what happened to his mother-in-law, who died at the age of 101. Roy told viewers of the leading cable channel that Maria de Lourdes died a holy death: “She did not suffer,” he emphasized. “A lady who lived a full life, who did not suffer, who was the one who never got sick, who was 101 years old and lost sleep over old age.”

Roy was absent from the coordination for the first two days of the week, offering his family all his support. Gocha continued to work, as he had promised his mother, but he made sure to attend the last farewell to his mother, with whom he had a very complicit and sincere relationship, despite the kilometers that separated them physically. Gocha spoke every day on the phone with Maria de Lourdes.

In these days of pain and suffering, he tried to protect himself. He even told his friends that they did not need to attend the funeral or the condolence. Roy explains the real reason:Manuel Luis was afraid to have so many friends around him because he could easily collapse but they showed up by surprise, I told them 'they won't go' but they insisted. Although I had to tell many 'it's not worth going'. He said: “Cristina Ferreira couldn't go because she had to lead the afternoon program, otherwise she would have been present too, in fact, she sent messages of support to me and Manuel Luis”.

Despite Gaucha's request, his friends went to Coimbra and were by his side during this difficult period. Rui admits that he also asked some friends not to go: “I had to tell many friends: it's not worth going, like Vasco Palmerim, Barbara and Joana Marques for example.” Everything to protect your loved ones.
