To intensify the battle against the Aedes aegypti mosquito – the dengue vector, Zika e Chikungunya – service Sprinkle Ultra Low Volume (UBV), known as Smoke, will travel through nine districts of the capital on Tuesday (13). The teams will be in the neighborhoods of Alves Pereira, Midwest, Los Angeles, Mata de Segredo, Villa Nasser, Pioniros, Rita Vieira, Jardim Seminario and Terradientes.
A CCEV team of the Municipal Health Secretariat (Sesau) will be located in each neighborhood, and they will follow a pre-set itinerary.
For the repeller to be most effective, it is necessary for the resident to open doors and windows so that the poison reaches the places where mosquitoes are most likely to be.
Services start at 4 pm and are expected to end at 10 pm, and they may be delayed or even canceled in the event of rain, wind or fog, as meteorological activities affect the application of the poison.
The repeller infects adult mosquitoes, and preferably females, which are disease vectors. However, it is possible for other species to be affected, so careful application of the toxin is essential.
