Upon reaching the age of eighteen, in February 1945, Elizabeth decided to join the Auxiliary Territorial Service during the war. She received training as a mechanic and truck driver. Former US President Donald Trump claims his mother saw Queen Elizabeth II repairing a truck engine in April 1945.
At the end of the war, she won the position of junior commander and to this day She is the only member of the British royal family to have served in the armed forces.. Furthermore, the Queen was the last head of state to serve during World War II.
The truth is so real that there is a video showing Elizabeth II’s service as a mechanic in World War II, while visiting her father, King George VI, to the field where she was working.

After the end of the war, in 1956, Elizabeth II traveled to Cumberland, England, to inaugurate the world’s first nuclear power plant. In fact, the city of Workington, near the factory, was the first to use the energy and heat from the technology.
In 2013, the Queen joined the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering to offer a £1 million award for innovative projects that benefit humanity. According to Queen, “Engineering is basically about using science to find creative and practical solutions.”
