PSI renews gains since September with EDP best day in 11 months – Bolsa

The Portuguese stock market closed higher and renewed its highest levels since mid-September last year, on a day when major European markets also posted gains.

The PSI advanced 0.9% to 6,069.06 points, again the maximum since September 12 last year. The Portuguese field was accompanied by the positive sentiment that prevailed in the main European stock exchanges. Of the 15 listed on the national index, 10 closed positive, four closed lower and the REN closed the day unchanged.

The highlight of the session was the EDP, which rose 4.53% to 4,844 euros, in what was the largest daily rise in 11 months. The power company benefited from the investment houses’ positive evaluation of its strategy, specifically raising capital to fund OPA via EDP Brasil. EDP ​​Renováveis ​​rose 3.24% to 21.03 euros.

Still in the energy sector, Greenvolt rose 2.84% to €7.24, while the REN closed unchanged at €2.56. On the other hand, Galp was the most punished of the listed companies, losing 2.9% to 11.06 euros, after JPMorgan reduced the recommendation for the oil company’s shares to “neutral” and lowered the “target” from 14.5 euros to 13. euros.

Among other heavyweights, BCP rose 0.55% to €0.219, while Jerónimo Martins rose 0.36% to €19.72.

Outside the main index, the Covina rose 25.48% to €0.325 after confirmation “Initial approaches by various external consultants” to an eventual sale. This is after The Observer reported that Media Capital was preparing to take over Malik Negócios, Correio da Manhã, CMTV, Sabado and Record.
