The year 2023 already has several confirmed lifts. Today’s news indicates that we will again see higher fuel prices for both petrol and diesel. However, the Environment Minister promised that energy prices will be lower for the Portuguese in 2023.
I knew how much the increase would be.
Fuel prices are rising again
News has started to spread regarding changes in fuel prices and it is now known that we will see a new increase in the first week of the year.
According to SIC, which cites industry sources, the rise in gasoline will be 5.5 cents, and in the case of diesel it should be less than 1 cent. Despite this increase, prices remained well below those in the summer months, largely due to lower taxes on petroleum products.
For 2023, price increases for electricity of about 3%, gas (3%), rents (up to 2%), tolls (4.9%), public transportation, communication services, and necessities have already been announced. For example, the price of bread is expected to rise again in 2023, due to the increase in the cost of raw materials and energy, but also affected by the update of the national minimum wage.
However, the Minister of the Environment has already confirmed that a phased solution is being created to reduce the exemption from paying the carbon tax and that next year the value of the ISP should be adjusted monthly, so that the fuel price does not weigh that. So much in the wallet of the Portuguese.
