Portuguese startup SWORD Health has a new medical digital solution for women – Ciência

While maintaining its focus on treating musculoskeletal conditions, SWORD Health is now adding a new clinical digital pelvic health solution to its offering, for use in recovery from home.

This is Bloom, presented as being able to resolve disparities in physical health through technology, combining sensors and human guidance for a pelvic health professional who will guide patients according to their specific condition and needs.

With the guarantee of non-surgical care, the solution can be used in cases of pelvic, bowel, bladder and sexual health disorders, which can be present during pregnancy, postpartum or menopause for example.

Patients can easily evaluate their own personalized treatment plans, says SWORD Health, as the program begins with a pelvic sensor that tracks and measures pressure, resistance and accuracy in the pelvic cavity. The Bloom sensor connects to the app, allowing patients to receive real-time feedback during exercise.

“Bloom’s sensor, linked to the app, allows patients to perform therapeutic exercises from the comfort and privacy of their own home while receiving real-time feedback”

The Bloom app comes with clinical-grade educational resources and cognitive behavioral therapy to support patients and help them deal with their conditions, the Portuguese startup adds.

After each session, results are automatically displayed on the Bloom Portal, where a pelvic health professional can review them and make the necessary changes to “make sure patients are always progressing on their individual journey.”
