After three rounds, this is Porto's first win in the Europa League (2-0). At the Estádio do Dragão, Vitor Bruno's men did not produce a lively performance, but they did pick up the valuable three points against Hoffenheim.
More than just winning, Vitor Bruno left with good news in the name of Thiago Diallo. The centre-back, who last weekend returned to playing football after 19 months out of injury, was a bet again and showed that he is back at the highest level.
It is a rebirth for the 24-year-old defender. Against Sentrins, he played the full 90 minutes and scored a goal, but would still miss the test against a higher level opponent. That's what happened against Hoffenheim: he shone again, scoring and playing almost the entire match – and leaving in the 84th minute.
Samo Omorodion returned to the starting lineup after being rested for the cup match, scoring again and sealing the win. The striker is the top scorer in the Europa League.
Porto achieves its first victory in the European League. The Dragons now have 4 points from 3 matches.
