For many years, the scientific knowledge produced in Brazilian universities was limited only to the intellectual environment. Society, in turn, was at the mercy of “political obscurantism”, lacking a light to guide them in decision-making. This behavior ended up allowing the emergence of politicians who are not committed to society and democracy, whose goals and objectives are guided by the interests of a part of the population.

Another consequence of this behavior was the emergence and dissemination of the principle “Politics is not discussed”. Now, if we are required to vote periodically, how can we not discuss political issues? Politics can be discussed on a theoretical and empirical basis by any interested citizen. For this, knowledge should be available to everyone.

In this sense, the book “Political Science: An Educational Presentation”, Organized by PhD students in political science Pedro Nascimento (UFPE) And the Ana Teresa Duarte de Lima Barros (UFPE)and released by Paraíba State University Publisher (EDUEPB), In his first volume, he makes an excellent contribution to creating a bridge between specialized knowledge and the political debate of citizens, with the main aim of contributing to the dissemination of political education in Brazil.
