The organizers of the Cannes International Film Festival have announced the official list of films that will compete for this year’s Palm D’Or. They include works by Hungarian, Russian, Moroccan and American. Unfortunately, there is no Polish production.
Festival organizers have announced that this year’s main event will feature Wes Anderson’s new companies, Sen Ben. Nani Moretti and Sergei oźnica. Palm D’Or competitors include Askar Farhadi, Sean Baker, Justin Kurzel, Bruno Dumont, Jack Audiard and Joachim Trier.
Oliver Stone’s documentary on the assassination of John F. Kennedy will have its first scene out of competition in Cannes. This painting is called “JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass”. The opening film of the festival is “Annette” directed by Leos Carax.
Festival organizers suggested that the corona virus infection be reflected on screens – mainly in non-competitive films. This is a film about terrorists who cause an epidemic to be shown among others.
This year’s Cannes Festival will take place from July 6 to 17. Honorary Palm d’Or will be awarded to Foster, and will be presided over by Chief Match Referee Spike Lee.
