Places will be provided at four additional points that will open exclusively on Saturday

With the arrival of a new batch of COVID-19 immunizations – about 3,800 doses of the vaccine – this Thursday (22/07), the municipality has expanded vaccination for people over 39 years old. To speed up vaccination, registration will open on Friday (23/07), with vacancies available for the next day (Saturday 24) at four different points, which will operate exclusively on Saturday (24/7): Professor Manoel José Ferreira Health Center, at the Center, and the Faculty of Arthur Sá Earp (Fase), in Av. Barão do Rio Branco, and UBSs Itamarati and Quitandinha, which also open vaccination doors from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other audiences will continue to conduct also at other points, on other dates, always upon pre-registration on the City Hall website, www.petropolis.rj.gov.br.
“Every effort is being made to ensure that Petrolatans are vaccinated as quickly as possible. As soon as we receive new doses, we immediately release new vacancies to the registry. With the opening of these four points on Saturday, it will be possible to immediately begin applying the vaccines we receive, and begin to Immunize 39-year-olds, Interim Mayor Hingo Hams explains.
The Ministry of Health states that the procedure carried out on Saturday will be carried out on an exceptional basis, in order to ensure the immediate use of the doses received, which serve people over the age of 39. This is because there were already people of other age groups registered to get the vaccination at the other stations that will also operate on Saturday. With new vacancies filled, there will also be an option to schedule the vaccination for the next week, up to the total number of doses received. From now on, new places will be made available after new shipments have been received from immunization agents or in the event of non-attendance or withdrawal of already registered persons (places in the last two cases are provided again daily in the system).
Health Minister Aloisio Barbosa da Silva Filho recalls that the four units in which the operation is taking place will only open their doors on Saturdays, but adds that the Secretariat is already organizing next week to increase the number of vaccination points.
“Petropolis is ready to expand the scope of vaccination as we receive larger batches of vaccines. The teams from the Immunization and Health Surveillance Sector, as well as the Planning Department and all other sectors of the Health Department involved in vaccination, are working so that we can expand service points, so that vaccination continues in an agile and orderly manner,” explains Aloisio Barbosa. Da Silva Filho.
On Thursday (22/07) Petropolis received 3,822 doses of vaccines (CoronaVac, AstraZeneca and Pfizer). Registration for vacancies available from these doses must be filled out on the city council website (www.petropolis.rj.gov.br).
As of Wednesday (21/07) the Petropolis Department of Health has applied 138,942 vaccines for the first dose. In the city, 49,220 people who received the second dose of the immunizing agent and 6805 people who received the single dose vaccine completed the vaccination schedule.
