The Municipality of Belo Horizonte will intensify measures to monitor and ensure that the entire target audience is immunized against yellow fever and Covid-19 vaccination campaigns in the capital, Minas Gerais. For this purpose, community health agents will enhance their home visits in the city’s nine regional offices.
The business wants to assess the vaccination status of people over 9 months old against yellow fever, and over 12 against coronavirus, to ensure the population is protected, as well as to improve immunization rates.
During this month, health professionals will review vaccine books and raise awareness about the importance of seeking complete protection. The teams will write down the name, address and phone number of the citizens visited so that the reference health center can check the system for a record of vaccine doses against diseases, after which they will contact you for immunization and issue proof of vaccination.
“Rapid monitoring is a very useful way of defining or redefining vaccination procedures, improving vaccination coverage and homogeneity of coverage. It is a picture of the action moment,” said the Undersecretary of Health Promotion and Monitoring, Fabiano Pimenta.
The PBH also warns that community agents are people associated with the area in which they carry out the procedures, and are known by the residents. “They work in uniform and have an identification badge. He explained that if doubt persists, the resident can contact the reference health center to make sure the specialist is able.
