Senator Paulo Baim (PT-RS) congratulated the Senate and the Center for Coordination of Social and Environmental Actions (NCas) on the initiative to acquire special glasses, with sensors, that will facilitate the integration of blind employees. According to Baim, the device will allow these people to read and perform facial recognition through voice and touch commands.
The senator also clarified, in a statement, Tuesday (22), that the technology will allow the blind and visually impaired to access any type of written information. In his opinion, the use of technologies to improve people’s quality of life is very important, and this, in particular, will make blind people able to “see and hear”, as well as make them feel included in the world.
Brazil needs to invest more and more in science and technology to enable such devices to reach everyone who needs them. This is equal opportunity. i.e. respect for diversity and difference; This leads to real and real social integration. This is a humanitarian policy. Let this gesture from the Senate serve as a model for other powers and for the private sector itself.
