The cabin is located in Sikkilsdalen in Jotunheimen and was built in 1902. The log cabin has eight rooms and a corridor and has been expanded several times over the years. Princiheta is the private property of the royal couple, and they spend the Easter holiday here almost every year.
The royal couple now plans to replace the current temporary structures with a permanent service home of approximately 70 square metres.
The project is being financed entirely with private funds, castle director Per Arne Björnstad told TV 2.
maps drawing Confirms that the new building, which will include a concrete building, has received a start permit.
The project will be implemented with a focus on integrating the building harmoniously into the landscape, and environmentally friendly solutions such as a grass roof and compressed air fuel power supply are planned to minimize the impact on wildlife.
