Muriaé records nearly 800 new cases of dengue fever in one week;  Average over 100 per day |  wood area

In just one week, Muriaé scored 777 new cases of dengue fever, Exceeding 3,400 notifications in these first months of 2023. The updated data are from the Epidemiological Bulletin of the Ministry of Health of the State of Minas Gerais (SES-MG), released on Monday (20).

In our previous newsletter, published March 13, the municipality was featured with A possible death from the disease is under investigation, but the case has been ignored. The volume confirms six cases of chikungunya and none of Zika.

Emergency

At the end of January, the municipality registered an emergency due to an outbreak of the disease caused by Aedes aegypti.

The new figures also indicate an increase in other cities in the region, including Juiz de Fora.

Last week, there were 100 cases. In Monday’s bulletin, there were 160 notices. In terms of numbers for chikungunya, the municipality has 5 cases – the same as last week.

No city in Zona da Mata and Campo das Virtentes has deaths from the disease.

In Minas, according to SES-MG, there are 35,678 cases with 13 confirmed deaths from dengue; 9,306 cases of chikungunya and 2 deaths, plus 6 cases of Zika virus, with no deaths.
