Municipal Science Week mobilizes schools and libraries in the municipality of Barcelos

Arouse students’ interest in science! This is the main objective of the set of activities promoted by the Municipality of Barcelos and the Barcelos Libraries Network (RBEB), within the scope of the Municipal Science Week, which will take place from 20 to 24 November, in schools, school libraries and the municipal library of the municipality.
Under the slogan “Science and Artificial Intelligence: Relationship and Challenges,” dozens of activities are planned for students from primary to secondary education.
The program includes, among other activities, meetings with writers, workshops, scientific experiments, readings, exhibitions, lectures and films, which will be held in the municipal library, school libraries and schools in the municipality.
From the programme, on November 20, at 10:30 am, highlights the opening of the committee “Looking at our rights”, at the Varzia School Centre. This is the seventh tile that will be inaugurated, in which students preserve their rights, through joint work between the Municipal Library and the Barcelos Pottery Museum.
A highlight of the program will be the presence of CteSP Director in Collaborative Robotics and Artificial Intelligence and IPCA 2AI researcher, Antonio Moreira, who will be at the Municipal Library on the 21st at 7:30 pm to talk about “Artificial Industries”. “Intelligence and Robotics”; as well as the participation of the doctoral researcher in chemistry from the University of Coimbra, Bernardo Albuquerque Nogueira, who will be present in the library on the 22nd at 10:30 am to address the topic “Discoveries that Changed the World”; as well as the presence of the writer Juana Luisa Matos on the 23rd at 9:30 Morning at the Antonio Fugaka School Center Library.
At the conclusion of the programme, on the 24th, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, the session “Educational Escape Room: Reinventing Learning Environments” will be held at the Barcelos Municipal Library, led by Adelina Mora, teacher at Escola Secundária Carlos Amarante.
