At the post-Napoli-Roma press conference, Mourinho said he had received a gift from Spalletti. Then the Italian revealed that he had offered Pulcinella.
In the press conference following the Napoli-Roma match (2-1) on Sunday, Jose Mourinho revealed that he had exchanged hugs with Luciano Spalletti and thanked the Italian coach for his birthday present – this week Special One celebrated its 60th anniversary.
“I thanked him for the Christmas gift he gave me. I haven’t had the chance to meet him yet. A gift for a teammate is always good. After the match, we didn’t exchange a word, just a hug,” said the Portuguese.
Shortly afterwards, also in the press room, the Napoli coach was asked about Mourinho’s remarks and revealed what he had been given as a gift – Pulcinella, the symbol of Napoli, a mask representing the common man who tries to face all his problems with a smile on his face.
Spalletti explained: “I gave him Pulcinella, the symbol of Napoli. I do that with all coaches. I gave him to everyone, including in the Champions League.”
