The first anniversary of the terrorist attack launched by Hamas on Israel began with attacks from the north against northern Israel, and continued with large-scale attacks towards Lebanon.

After a special day in Tel Aviv, where the streets were unusually empty, powerful explosions could be heard from the sky late Monday night.

“They took me!”

The Israeli army claimed a short time later that the explosions were caused by missiles sent from Lebanon. Earlier in the day, rocket launches were reported from the Houthis in Yemen and from Hamas in Gaza.

Just before the sirens sounded in Tel Aviv, a local source in Nahariya reported loud explosions and an orange sky towards southern Lebanon.

Dagbladet visited the village, which is located in the far north of Israel, near the border with Lebanon, last week. The remaining residents there live in fear of a ground invasion from Hezbollah, and in the hope that Israel's war against Hezbollah will make life safer along the border.

Early Monday evening, the Israeli army announced that it would expand its attacks against Hezbollah to the coastal areas of Lebanon south of the Awali River, and asked civilians to leave the area.

The same warning was directed to residents of the southern parts of the capital, Beirut, where the Israeli army carried out new air strikes during the evening. An Israeli airstrike was also reported near Beirut Airport.

In Lebanon, more than 1,100 people have been killed in Israeli attacks since September 23, according to Lebanese authorities. It is said that 400,000 people fled to Syria in the same period.
