Microsoft is launching laptops and 2-in-1 devices with built-in AI technology

Microsoft on Monday presented the new models of the Surface line, laptops and 2-in-1, specifically developed to power AI algorithms.

Copilot+ uses ARM (not Intel) architecture processors capable of processing “more than 40 TOPS (trillion operations per second),” according to a statement sent to newsrooms, and also promised “all-day battery life.”

These processors, developed in collaboration with Qualcomm, are able to “combine the power of a CPU, a GPU and a new high-performance neural processing unit (NPU).”

“Copilot+ can reach a level of performance never seen before. It is up to 20 times more powerful and up to 100 times more efficient.” Workloads Artificial Intelligence,” says the North American giant.

The tests put Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus processors with performance Above the best in its class, the Apple M3, according to specialized publications.

These models also have the possibility of integrated 5G Internet.

One of the functions built into Windows on these computers is the recall option, where each user can access virtually everything they saw or did on the computer, as if it were a photographic memory – artificial intelligence is able to organize the entire history by person and helps each person remember (and find ) what he is looking for quickly and intuitively.

This new hardware comes as a result of increased integration between WIndows and ChatGPT, now at version 4, the model behind services Microsoft calls Co-Pilot. On these computers there is a dedicated switch to launch the virtual assistant that you can speak to.

In addition to Microsoft Surface, models from partner brands Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung were also announced with these features.
