Meta claims to have sold approximately 20 million Meta Quest glasses

During a presentation to Reality Labs, Meta revealed that it has already sold nearly 20 million units of the Meta Quest goggles. Launched in May 2019, Oculus Quest is a virtual reality headset and standalone gaming platform created by Oculus, a company that is part of the Meta Group.

The American company shared with its employees statistics of nearly 20 million sales of its Quest headsets during a presentation on Tuesday that dealt with the future plans of the Reality Labs division, which takes care of virtual reality and “metaverse” technologies from the company. The figure showed great interest of users in the company’s products.

The Meta has never disclosed sales of VR headsets to consumers, but CTO Andrew Bosworth hinted in March 2021 when he claimed that Quest 2 sold more units than all of its predecessors combined. In July 2021, a product recall revealed that 4 million Quest 2 Face Interfaces had been sold in the United States, including those that came with the headset.
