The state of Minas Gerais has received 200,000 doses of the meningitis C vaccine, according to the state health ministry (SES-MG), 100,000 doses were delivered on Tuesday (2) and 100,000 on Wednesday (3). For this Thursday (4) a new delivery is scheduled with 200 thousand doses, for a total of 400 thousand. The immunized ones will be transferred to the municipalities responsible for regulating the vaccination.

Belo Horizonte, for example, announced the end of applications last week. In a note, the municipality says it is “planning to hold a new call” since more vaccines have been received.

During the campaign, immunization is available to all residents over the age of 16. The vaccine is available year-round in the public health network, but only for children between 3 and 5 months of age, as well as a booster shot for children between 12 months of age.
